The School Day

Langrish School is open from 8.25 a.m. until 3.10 p.m.

The main school gates remain open in the morning from 8.25 a.m. until 8.35 a.m. The children arrive via a 'drive through' in cars at the front office or by walking from the Seven Stars. Children arriving after this time enter the school via the main entrance.

Each class has a 10 minute break during the morning session. 

Lunchtime is from 12 noon until 12.55 p.m. Reception children start their lunch five minutes earlier to allow for our slow eaters! The time between 12.55 p.m. and 1.00 p.m. is used for handwashing and collecting property from the playground.

Afternoon learning starts at 1.00 p.m. and finishes at 3.10 p.m. when children are dismissed either from their classrooms (Years R,1,2 and 5) or from there front car park (which is closed at this time).

In a typical week, this equates to a learning time of 32.5 hours  (8.40 a.m. until 3.10 p.m. every day)

INSET Days

The school will close for five INSET days during each academic year. These days are for staff training and curriculum updates.

The INSET days for 2024 - 2025 are:
